A full water tank doesn't necessarily mean water is reaching the pump. Common causes include an incorrectly seated tank, a stuck tank outlet valve, trapped air, a restricted water filter, limescale or another blockage in the water circuit. Remove and refit the tank firmly before carrying out further checks.

Yes. The tank needs to engage correctly with the machine's water inlet so its outlet valve can open. Remove the tank, check the connection area for dirt or obstruction, refill it and push it firmly back into position. A poorly seated tank can leave the pump running without an adequate water supply.

Yes. Air trapped inside the hydraulic circuit can prevent the pump from drawing water even though the tank is full. This commonly happens after the tank has been allowed to run empty, following maintenance or after changing a water filter. Running the hot-water function can help prime the circuit and restore water flow.

Yes. An old, blocked, incorrectly fitted or poorly primed water filter can restrict the flow between the tank and pump. If the problem started after fitting a filter, temporarily remove it and test the machine. If water flow returns, check the filter preparation and installation before refitting or replacing it.

Yes. Limescale can progressively restrict narrow passages within the hydraulic circuit. You may notice slower dispensing, reduced drink volumes or increased pump noise before the water eventually stops flowing. If the machine is due for maintenance, completing the appropriate descaling programme is a sensible next step.

If you've correctly seated the tank, checked the filter, attempted to prime the water circuit and completed any required maintenance but still have no water flow, further diagnosis may be needed. Possible causes include the tank inlet, pump, flow meter, valve or another internal restriction within the hydraulic system.
