  • Always use cold fresh water

    Fresh cold tap water produces the best coffee and steam performance. Avoid distilled or highly filtered water as it can affect temperature sensing and steam production.

  • Rinse the steam wand after every drink

    The Creatista automatically purges the steam wand after frothing, but you should still wipe it immediately with a damp cloth. This prevents milk drying inside the tip and greatly reduces blockages.

  • Clean the capsule container daily

    Unlike bean-to-cup machines, coffee oils build up around the used capsule container and drip tray surprisingly quickly. Empty both every day if making several coffees.

  • Use refrigerated milk

    For the best automatic milk texture use fresh whole or semi-skimmed milk straight from the fridge (around 4–6°C). Older or warm milk produces noticeably poorer foam.

  • Set the correct water hardness

    Many owners skip this during setup. Setting the correct water hardness allows the machine to calculate descaling intervals accurately and helps protect the internal thermoblock.

  • Descale as soon as the machine asks

    Ignoring the descale reminder eventually reduces coffee temperature, steam performance and water flow. Completing the descale cycle promptly helps keep extraction consistent.

  • Lower Wand

    The steam wand has not been lowered into the milk jug.

    Lower the steam wand fully before starting milk preparation.

  • Clean Steam Wand

    Milk residue has built up inside the steam tip.

    Go to:

    Maintenance → Clean Steam Wand

    and follow the on-screen instructions.

  • Descale Required

    The machine has detected scale build-up based on its water hardness setting.

    Complete the guided descaling programme before continuing regular use.

  • Fill Water Tank

    The water tank is empty or not fitted correctly.

    Refill with fresh cold water and ensure the tank is fully seated.

  • Empty Drip Tray / Capsule Container

    Remove the drip tray and used capsule container, empty both and reinstall correctly. Daily emptying helps maintain hygiene.

  • How to Clean the Steam Wand

    The automatic steam wand is one of the biggest advantages of the Creatista Plus.

    For the best performance:

    1. Wipe the steam wand immediately after every milk drink.
    2. Allow the automatic purge to complete.
    3. If the machine displays Clean Steam Wand, open:

      Maintenance → Clean Steam Wand
    4. Follow the on-screen cleaning programme.
    5. If necessary, remove any residue from the steam tip before using again.

  • How to Set Water Hardness

    Setting the correct water hardness helps the machine determine when descaling is required.

    1. Use the supplied water hardness test strip.
    2. Open Settings.
    3. Select Water Hardness.
    4. Follow the on-screen prompts.
    5. Save the detected hardness level.

    If you move home or your water supply changes, update this setting accordingly.

  • Daily Care

    To keep your Creatista Plus performing at its best:

    • Empty the used capsule container daily.
    • Empty and rinse the drip tray.
    • Rinse the milk jug after every use.
