quick tips

  • Only adjust the grinder while it's running

If your Cookworks Bean-to-Cup Coffee Machine has an adjustable grinder, only change the grind setting while the grinder is operating. Adjusting it while stationary can damage the grinding mechanism.

  • Clean the brew unit every week

Remove the brew unit regularly and rinse it under clean running water. Allow it to dry completely before refitting to keep the brewing system operating smoothly and reduce coffee residue build-up.

  • Empty the grounds container daily

Don't wait until the container is overflowing. Empty the coffee grounds container and drip tray regularly to prevent warning lights and ensure the machine continues to brew correctly.

  • Descale when the warning light appears

Ignoring the descaling indicator allows limescale to build up inside the heating system, reducing water flow and brewing temperature. Complete a full descaling cycle as soon as the machine requests it.

  • Always use fresh drinking water

Refill the water tank with fresh water every day rather than topping up old water. This improves coffee flavour and helps keep the internal water system clean.

  • Clean the milk system after every use

If your machine has a milk frothing system, wipe the steam outlet immediately after use and clean the removable milk components regularly. This prevents blockages and helps maintain good milk frothing performance.

FAQ's

  • Why is my Cookworks Bean-to-Cup Coffee Machine showing the descaling light?

The descaling indicator means limescale has built up inside the machine. You can usually continue making coffee while the light is steady, but you should complete a descaling cycle as soon as possible. If the light begins flashing, descaling is required before normal operation can continue.

  • Why won't my Cookworks Bean-to-Cup Coffee Machine make coffee?

Check that the water tank contains water, the bean hopper has coffee beans, the grounds container has been emptied and the brew unit is correctly installed. The machine uses separate warning lights to indicate which component requires attention.

  • Why is the coffee from my Cookworks Bean-to-Cup machine weak?

Weak coffee is often caused by a coarse grinder setting, stale coffee beans or insufficient coffee being ground. Adjust the grinder one step finer (while grinding), use fresh beans and keep the brew unit clean for the best extraction.
