WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Fresh clean water and a soft damp cloth. Allow the Cappuccinatore to cool completely before removing or cleaning its components.

01

ALLOW THE MILK SYSTEM TO COOL

After using the milk frothing system, allow the Cappuccinatore and steam pipe to cool completely. Switch off the machine and disconnect the power supply before cleaning.

02

WIPE THE CAPPUCCINATORE

Use a soft damp cloth to wipe the outside of the Cappuccinatore, removing any visible milk residue from its external surfaces.

03

REMOVE THE CAPPUCCINATORE

Carefully pull the Cappuccinatore away from the steam pipe to remove the complete milk frothing assembly.

04

DISMANTLE THE MILK COMPONENTS

Remove the milk hose, milk froth and hot water nozzle, and air intake pipe from the connecting piece. Keep the components together ready for cleaning and reassembly.

05

RINSE ALL COMPONENTS

Rinse each dismantled component thoroughly using clean water. Ensure the milk hose, nozzle and air intake pipe are free from visible milk residue.

06

REASSEMBLE THE MILK SYSTEM

Reassemble the Cappuccinatore in the reverse order, reconnecting the milk hose, nozzle and air intake pipe to the connecting piece. Push the complete Cappuccinatore back onto the steam pipe until securely seated.

FAQ's

  • How often should I clean the Melitta Solo & Perfect Milk milk system?

Clean the Cappuccinatore after preparing milk drinks to prevent milk residue from accumulating inside the components. Regularly dismantle the milk hose, nozzle and air intake pipe for thorough rinsing, particularly when the machine is used frequently for milk-based coffees.

  • Why is my Melitta Solo & Perfect Milk not producing enough milk froth?

Reduced milk froth can occur when the Cappuccinatore becomes obstructed or the rotary regulator is incorrectly positioned. Check that the regulator is set to the milk froth position. If performance remains poor, dismantle the Cappuccinatore and thoroughly rinse the nozzle and air intake pipe before reassembling.

  • Can I remove the Melitta Solo & Perfect Milk milk frother for cleaning?

Yes. The Cappuccinatore is designed to be removed from the steam pipe. Once cooled, the milk hose, milk froth nozzle and air intake pipe can be separated from the connecting piece, rinsed thoroughly with water and reassembled before refitting.

Engineer's Tip

The air intake pipe is particularly important for producing consistent milk froth. Even a small buildup of dried milk residue can restrict airflow and reduce frothing performance. When cleaning the Cappuccinatore, pay particular attention to this component and ensure all milk passages are clear before reassembly.
