After preparing your drinks, empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container before they become full. Flush the automatic cleaning programme if your machine includes one, then regularly remove and thoroughly wash the milk hose, milk container and frothing components. Dried milk residue is one of the most common causes of poor milk frothing and blocked milk circuits.

Only use high-quality roasted coffee beans designed for bean-to-cup coffee machines. Avoid flavoured, caramelised or oily beans, as these can coat the grinder and brewing system, leading to blockages and inconsistent grinding. Keep the bean hopper free from old beans and wipe away excess coffee dust during routine cleaning.

Allow your Melitta coffee machine to complete any automatic rinse cycles when switching on and off. Always use fresh water, avoid leaving coffee grounds inside the machine for extended periods and empty waste containers regularly.
