quick tips

  • Use Expert Mode to fine tune drinks

Expert Mode allows you to adjust the amount of coffee or milk while the drink is being prepared, making it easy to personalise recipes without changing your saved settings.

  • DoubleShot creates stronger coffee without extra bitterness

Instead of simply using more coffee, DoubleShot grinds and brews twice using smaller doses, producing a richer coffee while reducing over-extraction.

  • Wait for the second coffee after adjusting the grinder

The conical grinder doesn't fully reflect a grind adjustment immediately. Brew at least two coffees before deciding whether another adjustment is needed.

  • Coffee Pot mode has a cooling period

The CM6360 can prepare up to six cups using Coffee Pot mode, but after two consecutive cycles the machine automatically requires approximately one hour to cool before the function becomes available again.

  • Keep the milk system hygienic

Although the machine automatically rinses the milk pipework, Miele still recommends running the dedicated milk cleaning programme and regularly cleaning the removable milk components to maintain excellent frothing performance.

  • Program your local water hardness

The CM6360 uses the programmed water hardness to calculate when descaling is required. Setting the correct hardness helps protect the heating system and ensures maintenance reminders appear at the right time.

FAQ's

  • Why doesn't my CM6360 rinse every time it switches on?

If the coffee machine is already at operating temperature, the automatic rinse cycle may be skipped. This is completely normal and helps reduce unnecessary rinsing.

  • Why does my coffee taste different after changing the grinder?

Grinder adjustments are gradual. Miele recommends brewing two coffees before judging the new grind setting, as the previous grind remains in the brewing system after the first cup.

  • Why does my machine ask me to degrease the brew unit?

Coffee oils naturally build up inside the brew unit. After approximately 200 drinks the CM6360 reminds you to complete the automatic degreasing programme. Ignoring the reminder may eventually prevent further coffee preparation until maintenance has been completed.

fault codes and display messages

  • F10 – Water Intake Fault

F10 indicates that the CM6360 is unable to draw enough water into the system. Check that the water container is full, correctly fitted and that the water container filter is clean. If the message returns after these checks, further diagnosis of the water supply system may be required.

  • F17 – Water Flow Fault

F17 appears when insufficient water is moving through the coffee machine during operation. This can be caused by a blocked water filter, air within the system or limescale restricting water flow. Completing the recommended maintenance procedures often resolves the issue.

  • F73 – Brew Unit Position Fault

F73 means the brew unit cannot move into its correct operating position. Remove the brew unit, rinse it under warm running water and allow the machine to reinitialise before refitting it. If the message continues to appear, further inspection of the brew unit drive mechanism may be required.

  • F74 – Drive System Fault

F74 indicates a problem with the internal drive mechanism responsible for moving the brew unit. Restart the coffee machine first, but if the fault returns consistently it may require professional diagnosis.

  • F77 – Internal System Fault

F77 is an internal system fault. Switch the machine off, wait a few minutes and restart it. If the fault returns after restarting, further investigation will usually be required.

  • F80 – Internal Electronic Fault

F80 indicates an internal electronic fault within the coffee machine. Power the machine off for approximately one hour before restarting. If the message returns, servicing is normally recommended.

  • F82 – Internal Electronic Fault

F82 is another internal electronics fault. Restart the machine after allowing it to cool and reconnect. Persistent F82 faults generally require further diagnosis.

  • F235 – Internal Machine Fault

F235 indicates an internal operating fault detected by the control system. Restart the coffee machine and monitor whether the fault returns. Repeated occurrences usually indicate an internal component requiring inspection.

  • F236 – Internal Machine Fault

F236 is an internal machine fault similar to F235. Restarting the appliance may clear a temporary error, but recurring faults should be investigated before further use.
