Siemens Coffee Machine not frothing milk

If your Siemens coffee machine produces little or no milk froth, dispenses hot milk instead of foam or fails to draw milk at all, the issue is usually related to the milk system rather than the coffee brewing components. Siemens EQ series machines rely on clean milk circuits and unrestricted airflow to create consistent microfoam.

One of the most common causes is dried milk residue inside the milk hose, frothing chamber or milk outlet. Even small amounts of dried milk can restrict airflow and prevent the machine from producing proper foam. Running the automatic milk system cleaning programme after each use helps reduce the risk of blockages.

Milk temperature also affects frothing performance. Fresh, cold milk generally produces better foam than warm milk, particularly when using semi-skimmed or whole milk. Milk that has been left out for an extended period may not froth consistently.

Check that the milk hose is correctly connected and free from cracks, kinks or blockages. Air leaks in the hose can prevent the Venturi system from drawing milk correctly, resulting in poor or inconsistent froth.

The milk outlet and frothing components should also be removed and cleaned regularly. Coffee oils, milk proteins and mineral deposits can build up over time, reducing performance even if the machine appears clean externally.

If your Siemens coffee machine prompts for cleaning or descaling, complete the maintenance programme as soon as possible. Limescale can affect steam production and reduce the efficiency of the milk system.

If cleaning the milk system, replacing worn hoses and completing the recommended maintenance does not restore proper milk frothing, a worn frothing valve, blocked steam circuit or internal component may require further diagnosis.
