quick tips

  • Airlock in the Water Filter

If a new INTENZA filter has just been fitted or the water tank has run empty, air can become trapped in the system.

    Symptoms

    • Pump can be heard running.
    • Little or no water comes out.
    • Machine may stop during brewing.

    Fix

    1. Remove the water filter.
    2. Immerse it in water with the opening facing upwards until all air bubbles stop escaping.
    3. Refit the filter, pressing it firmly into the tank connection.
    4. Run several hot water cycles.
  • Water Tank Blockage

The manual notes that limescale remover residue or deposits inside the water tank can restrict water flow.

    Fix

    • Remove the water tank.
    • Wash it thoroughly with clean water.
    • Ensure the tank seats fully when reinstalled.
  • Heavy Limescale Build-up

As scale builds inside the hydraulic system, water flow gradually reduces until the machine may barely dispense.

    Signs

    • Coffee pours very slowly.
    • Cup sizes become smaller.
    • Hot water flow is weak.

    Fix

Run the Descaling or calc'nClean service programme using Siemens-approved descaling tablets. The manual warns against delaying descaling or using unsuitable products.

  • Dirty Brewing Unit

The EQ700 manual states that a dirty brewing unit can reduce or prevent proper coffee dispensing.

    Fix

    • Remove the brewing unit.
    • Rinse under warm running water only.
    • Allow it to dry.
    • Refit securely before restarting the machine.

If prompted, also run the Brewing Unit Cleaning programme.

  • Pump Running but No Water

If you hear the pump buzzing continuously but nothing comes out:

    • Check the water tank is fully inserted.
    • Remove and prime the water filter.
    • Run several hot water cycles.

    • Complete a full descaling cycle if it has been overdue.
  • Error in Water System

    If the display shows:

"Error in water system. Please restart appliance."

    The manual recommends:

    1. Switch off the machine.
    2. Unplug it for 10 seconds.
    3. Reconnect and restart.

If the message returns after these checks, the machine requires further diagnosis.

FAQ's

  • Can I control my Siemens EQ700 from my phone?

If your Siemens EQ700 powers on but no water is dispensed, first check the water tank is correctly fitted and contains fresh water. If you're using an INTENZA water filter, remove it and immerse it in water until all air bubbles have escaped before refitting it securely. Air trapped inside a new or recently changed filter is one of the most common causes of poor or no water flow. If the problem continues, clean the water tank thoroughly and run the hot water function again.

  • Can limescale stop my Siemens EQ700 from dispensing water?

Yes. Heavy limescale build-up can significantly reduce water flow and eventually stop drinks from being dispensed correctly. The EQ700 manual recommends running the Descaling or calc'nClean service programme using the correct Siemens descaling tablets whenever prompted. Regular descaling helps keep the hydraulic system clear and prevents restricted water flow.

  • My Siemens EQ700 says "Error in water system." What should I do?

If the display shows "Error in water system. Please restart appliance.", Siemens recommends unplugging the machine from the mains for around 10 seconds, then reconnecting and restarting it. If the message returns after restarting and you've already checked the water tank, filter and descaling status, the machine may require further diagnosis, as an internal hydraulic component could be at fault.
