Limescale Blocking the Thermoblock

Limescale is the most common cause of heating problems in De’Longhi machines.

Mineral deposits from hard water can build up inside the thermoblock and restrict water flow. When this happens, the heating system cannot transfer heat efficiently.

Signs include:

Thermoblock Heating Element Failure

De’Longhi machines use a thermoblock heating element to rapidly heat water.

Temperature Sensor Fault

Thermal Fuse Activation

De’Longhi machines include thermal protection fuses that shut down the heating circuit if overheating occurs.

Replacing the fuse restores heating functionality.

In rare cases the main electronic control board may fail to activate the heating circuit.

Signs include:

This typically requires professional repair.

Before assuming a hardware fault, try the following:

• Run a complete descaling cycle
