FLUSH AFTER FROTHING MILK

After preparing a milk drink, dispense hot water through the steam wand. This helps flush remaining milk residue from the Pannarello and outlet before it has a chance to dry.

ALLOW THE STEAM WAND TO COOL

Before removing the Pannarello for cleaning, allow the steam wand to cool. For maintenance and cleaning, switch the machine off and disconnect it from the mains.

REMOVE THE OUTER PANNARELLO

Remove the external section of the Pannarello from the steam wand. Gaggia recommends removing this part every day after heating milk and washing it with fresh drinking water.

Rinse it thoroughly to remove milk residue from both the inside and outside.

COMPLETE THE WEEKLY CLEAN

Once a week, remove the external Pannarello and then remove the upper section of the Pannarello from the steam wand.

Wash the removable upper section thoroughly with fresh drinking water, paying particular attention to areas where dried milk can collect.

CLEAN THE STEAM WAND

With the Pannarello removed, carefully wipe the exposed steam wand with a clean damp cloth. Remove any visible milk residue from the outside of the wand.

REASSEMBLE THE PANNARELLO

Refit the upper section onto the steam wand, making sure it is completely inserted. Reattach the external Pannarello and check that everything is securely positioned before using the steam function again.
