How to Clean a Saeco GranAroma Milk System

guide

guide

Regular cleaning of your Saeco GranAroma milk system helps remove milk residue and maintain consistent milk delivery. The machine provides automatic HygieSteam cleaning, a Deep Milk Clean programme and a removable internal cappuccinatore for manual cleaning.

01

OPEN THE CLEANING MENU

Select the Clean icon on your Saeco GranAroma. Use the navigation arrows to find the required cleaning programme and confirm your selection.

02

RUN THE HYGIESTEAM PROGRAMME

After each day of milk system use, select HygieSteam from the cleaning menu.

Check that the HygieSteam container is correctly assembled and attached. Wipe the outside of the metal milk tube with a damp cloth and place the tube into its holder.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the automatic steam cleaning.

03

REMOVE THE INTERNAL CAPPUCCINATORE

Once a week, open the internal cappuccinatore access door.

Pull the internal cappuccinatore downwards to remove it.

Separate the lower section from the upper section and disassemble its removable parts.

04

WASH AND REFIT THE CAPPUCCINATORE

Rinse all disassembled parts under running water. The weekly cleaning instructions permit a little washing-up liquid.

Reassemble the cappuccinatore. Hold it upright and align its openings with the two tubes inside the machine.

Push the cappuccinatore upwards until it locks into position. Close the access door.

05

CLEAN THE MILK CONTAINER

Once a week, disassemble the milk container. Use the pin on the milk tube to push out the ball as illustrated in the machine manual.

Clean the container components under running water or in the dishwasher.

Also remove the HygieSteam container and its cover weekly, or when prompted. Empty and wash both parts under running water or in the dishwasher.

Allow the HygieSteam container and cover to air-dry before refitting.

06

RUN THE MONTHLY DEEP MILK CLEAN

Once a month, select Deep Milk Clean from the cleaning menu.

The manual specifies Philips milk circuit cleaner for this programme.

Follow the instructions displayed by your machine to prepare and complete the cleaning cycle.

The manual does not reproduce every programme screen or solution quantity. Follow the machine's prompts and the cleaner's instructions rather than estimating quantities.

Engineer's Tip

A clean brew group also needs correct lubrication. Every two months, check the piston, lower shaft and guide rails, applying a thin layer of the specified grease as shown in the manual. This helps the mechanism move smoothly and reduces unnecessary resistance during operation.
