OPEN THE DESCALING MENU

On the touchscreen, select the Settings icon, then choose Descale. Press Next to enter the guided procedure, followed by OK to begin. If a descaling reminder is already displayed, select OK to enter the process directly.

PREPARE THE MACHINE

Fit the removable hot-water spout. Remove and empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container, then refit both. Press Next.

REMOVE THE WATER FILTER

Take out the water tank and lift its lid. If a water-softening filter is installed, remove it before adding the descaling solution.

PREPARE THE DESCALING SOLUTION

Pour 100ml of descaler into the water tank, reaching the marked A level. Add 1 litre of water until the solution reaches the B level. Replace the tank and lid, close the front door and press Next.

START THE DESCALING CYCLE

Position an empty container with at least 2 litres capacity beneath the outlets. Press OK. The machine will release descaling solution through the hot-water and coffee outlets. This stage takes approximately 30 minutes.

Caution: Hot, acidic water is discharged during descaling. Avoid contact with the liquid and any splashes.

COMPLETE THE FIRST RINSE

When prompted, empty the collection container. Remove the water tank, discard any remaining solution and rinse the tank under running water. Fill to MAX with fresh water and refit it. Press Next, place the empty collection container beneath the outlets and press OK to start rinsing.

COMPLETE THE SECOND RINSE

When the first rinse has emptied the tank, empty the collection container. Remove the water tank and reinstall the water filter if previously removed. Press Next. Refill the tank to MAX, refit it and press Next. Position the empty collection container beneath the outlets and press OK to begin the second rinse.

FINISH DESCALING

After the second rinse, empty the collection container. Remove and empty the drip tray and grounds container, then refit them. Fill the water tank to MAX with fresh water, reinstall it and press Next. Select OK to complete the procedure. The machine will briefly preheat before returning to the home screen.
