PREPARE YOUR GAGGIA MAGENTA

Switch the machine on and allow it to complete its normal start-up procedure.

Check that there is sufficient fresh water in the water tank before beginning the brew group cleaning programme.

POSITION A CONTAINER

Place a suitable container beneath the coffee dispensing spout. This will collect the water dispensed during the cleaning procedure.

OPEN CLEAN / SETTING

Press the CLEAN/SETTING button on the Magenta control panel.

Select CLEAN to open the machine's cleaning programmes.

SELECT BREW GROUP CLEANING

Select BREW GROUP CLEANING from the cleaning menu.

Start the programme and follow the instructions shown on the Magenta display.

ADD THE COFFEE CLEANING TABLET

When instructed by the machine, add the coffee cleaning tablet as directed by the on-screen procedure.

Use a tablet intended for removing coffee oils and residue from the brewing system. Do not use a descaling product for this procedure.

FOLLOW THE DISPLAY

Continue following each instruction shown on the Magenta display. The machine controls the cleaning sequence and dispenses water through the brewing system as required.

Keep the collection container beneath the coffee spout throughout the programme.

ALLOW THE PROGRAMME TO FINISH

Let the Magenta complete the full brew group cleaning programme. Do not return the machine to normal use until the display confirms that the procedure has finished.

EMPTY THE CONTAINER

Once the cleaning programme has finished, remove and empty the collection container.

Check the drip tray and empty it if required before returning the machine to normal use.

KEEP THE BREW GROUP CLEAN

The tablet cleaning programme does not replace normal brew group maintenance. Remove the brew group regularly and rinse it thoroughly with fresh water as part of the Magenta's routine maintenance.

Keeping up with both routines helps prevent loose coffee grounds and oily coffee residue from building up around the brewing system.
