HOW TO CLEAN THE BREW GROUP

Follow these steps to remove, clean and refit the brew group correctly.

Press the ON/OFF button to switch the Gaggia Brera off. Once the machine has shut down, disconnect the plug from the electrical socket.

Remove the coffee grounds drawer from the machine before accessing the brew group.

Open the service door to access the removable brew group inside the Brera.

Hold the brew group by its handle. Press the PUSH button and pull the brew group out of the machine using the handle.

Wash the brew group thoroughly using lukewarm water. Carefully clean the upper filter. Do not use detergent or soap.

Remove loose coffee grounds and residue from inside the machine. Clean the seat of the tray through the openings in the bottom of the machine.

Thoroughly wash the brew group components and allow them to dry before reinstalling the brew group.

Make sure the two reference marks on the brew group line up correctly before refitting it.

Make sure the lever is in contact with the brew group. Press the PUSH button to confirm that the mechanism is in the correct position.

Slide the brew group into its seat until it locks into place. Do not press the PUSH button while inserting it.

Insert the coffee grounds drawer and close the service door.

Reconnect the Brera to the electrical supply and switch the machine back on normally.

HOW OFTEN?

Gaggia recommends cleaning the brew group whenever the coffee bean hopper is filled, or at least once a week.
