  • Remove the CLARIS filter as a test

    A restricted or exhausted filter can reduce water flow into the machine. Remove the filter temporarily, refill the water tank and try dispensing hot water. If normal flow returns, replace the filter rather than continuing to use the restricted cartridge.

  • Reseat and refill the water tank

    Remove the ENA 8 water tank, fill it with fresh cold water and refit it firmly. If the tank is not seated correctly, water may not feed properly into the hydraulic circuit.

  • Try dispensing hot water

    Select hot water and listen to the machine. If you can hear the pump running but little or no water reaches the outlet, this points towards an airlock or restriction in the water circuit rather than the machine simply failing to start the pump.

  • Prime an airlocked water circuit

    An ENA 8 can struggle to draw water after the tank has run completely empty or after work on the filter. Remove the filter, fill the tank fully and repeatedly request hot water to help the pump pull water back through the circuit.

  • Check for limescale restricting the water path

    If water flow became progressively slower before stopping, scale is a likely possibility. This is particularly relevant where the ENA 8 has been operated without an active CLARIS filter or with an incorrect water-hardness setting. Run the machine's descaling programme when appropriate.

  • Pay attention to the sound of the pump

    A loud pump with no water often points towards the pump running dry, an airlock or difficulty drawing water from the tank. A very quiet pump with no water can indicate a more substantial restriction or pump/electrical problem. If removing the filter and attempting to prime the circuit produces no improvement, the machine may require internal diagnosis.

  • Why is my Jura ENA 8 making a pumping noise but no water comes out?

    The pump may be operating without successfully drawing water. This can happen after the water tank has emptied completely, after changing the filter or when the filter restricts the inlet. Fill the tank, temporarily remove the CLARIS filter and repeatedly request hot water. If water begins flowing, allow the machine to establish a steady flow before fitting a suitable filter again.

  • Can the water filter stop a Jura ENA 8 from pumping water?

    A heavily restricted filter can contribute to poor or absent water flow. Removing the filter temporarily is a useful diagnostic check. If the ENA 8 pumps normally without it, replace the cartridge. Don't continue operating indefinitely with a filter that is restricting the water supply.

  • Why has my Jura ENA 8 water flow gradually become slower and then stopped?

    Gradually deteriorating flow is more suggestive of a restriction than a sudden pump failure. Check the filter first. If the machine has been operated without effective filtration, limescale may also have accumulated in the water circuit. If filter removal and priming do not restore flow, the internal water path, flowmeter, pump and valves may need checking.
