  • Make full use of the two grinders

    The J10 Twin's biggest difference from the standard J10 is its two bean containers and two grinders. Open Aroma Selection before preparing a drink and you can choose which grinder supplies the coffee.

    The grinder selection can be adjusted between 100%, 50% and 0%, allowing coffee from either side or a mixture of both. You can even rename the grinders in Machine Settings to match the beans you've loaded.

  • Set each grinder for the beans you're using

    There are separate grinder adjustment switches for the two grinders. Each can be adjusted towards a mild or intense aroma according to the coffee being used.

    This is particularly important with Cold Brew: if the selected grinder is set to INTENSE, the J10 Twin asks you to change it to MILD before Cold Brew preparation can continue.

  • Cold Brew actually uses cold extraction

    Cold Brew isn't simply normal hot coffee poured over ice. The J10 Twin uses its Cold Extraction Process, pulsing cold water through the coffee at high pressure.

    Start with fresh, cold water in the tank because the water temperature directly affects the result. Ice can then be added to the glass according to preference.

  • Poor milk foam usually starts at the frother

    If milk begins spraying or the foam becomes thin or inconsistent, inspect the professional fine foam frother before assuming there's a larger fault.

    The J10 Twin requires the milk system to be cleaned daily when milk has been prepared, and the professional fine foam frother should be dismantled and rinsed approximately once a week. Milk itself should ideally be 4–8°C.

  • Keep an eye on which bean container the machine is asking for

    The Twin distinguishes between its two supplies and can display “Fill left bean container” or “Fill right bean container.”

    An empty container only prevents preparation of coffee specialities requiring beans from that particular container. Milk and hot water remain available.

  • Clean the Coffee Eye if cup detection becomes unreliable

    The J10 Twin has a Coffee Eye cup-detection sensor behind the coffee spout.

    If the machine reports that a cup is present when there isn't one, the manual specifically identifies contamination of this sensor as the cause. Clean the sensor carefully with a damp cloth.

  • Can I use two different coffees in the JURA J10 Twin?

    Yes. The J10 Twin has two 180g bean containers and two grinders, specifically allowing different beans to be loaded simultaneously.

    Before preparation, open Aroma Selection. You can choose which grinder is used and alter the coffee strength. The grinder selection can be set at 100%, 50% or 0%, allowing the machine to use one side or combine beans from the two grinders.

    You can also give each grinder its own name in the machine settings, making it easier to identify the beans currently loaded.

  • Why won't my JURA J10 Twin make Cold Brew?

    Check the grind setting of the selected grinder. Cold Brew can only be prepared when the grind consistency is set to MILD.

    If it is set to INTENSE, the machine asks you to alter the appropriate grinder using its adjustment switch.

    Also use fresh, cold water in the tank. The J10 Twin's Cold Brew uses cold water pulsed through the coffee at high pressure, so tank-water temperature influences the finished drink.

  • Why is my JURA J10 Twin coffee coming out very slowly?

    If coffee only comes through the spout in drips, the manual identifies an excessively fine grind as one possible cause. Adjust the appropriate grinder to a coarser setting; if you're using pre-ground coffee, use a coarser grind.

    Incorrect water-hardness configuration can also allow limescale to contribute to restricted flow. If required, carry out the machine's descaling programme.

  • ERROR 2

    If ERROR 2 appears after the J10 Twin has been exposed to cold temperatures for an extended period, its heating system may have been disabled for safety. Allow the complete machine to warm naturally to room temperature.

  • ERROR 5

    ERROR 5 is covered by the same troubleshooting instruction. Prolonged exposure to cold may cause heating to be disabled for safety. Allow the machine to reach room temperature before trying it again.

  • Fill left bean container / Fill right bean container

    The corresponding bean container is empty. Coffee drinks requiring beans from that side won't be available until it is refilled.

    Fill water tank

    The water tank is empty and drink preparation is stopped.

  • Empty coffee grounds container / Empty drip tray

    The relevant container is full. Empty and refit it. The grounds container should be emptied while the machine is switched on so its internal grounds counter resets correctly.

  • Drip tray not fitted

    The drip tray is missing or hasn't been correctly inserted.

    Not enough ground coffee

    There isn't enough pre-ground coffee to complete preparation. On the next attempt add more coffee, without exceeding two level measuring spoons.

  • Change the filter

    The CLARIS Smart+ cartridge has reached the end of its calculated capacity.

    Clean / Descale / Clean the milk system

    These are maintenance prompts shown through the Cockpit and should be completed using the corresponding guided programme

  • Changing the Water Filter

    The J10 Twin uses a CLARIS Smart+ filter mounted inside a removable filter casing.

    Remove the water tank and rotate the filter casing anticlockwise. Open the casing, remove the exhausted cartridge and insert the replacement. Close the casing, reinstall it in the tank and rotate it clockwise until it audibly clicks into position.

    Once the tank is refilled and fitted, the J10 Twin automatically recognises the new filter and performs a rinse. Filter-rinse water flows directly into the drip tray, so additional water there immediately after a filter change is normal.

    When CLARIS Smart+ filtration is being used correctly, the machine doesn't issue its normal descaling prompt.

  • Descaling the J10 Twin

    If the machine is being operated without CLARIS Smart+ filtration, it calculates when descaling is required according to water hardness.

    Select Descale → Start in the Cockpit and follow the display. Remove the tank and fill it to the DESCALE mark, then completely dissolve three descaling tablets in the water.

    During the programme, descaling solution passes repeatedly through the hot-water spout and professional fine foam frother, with water also routed into the drip tray.

    When prompted, thoroughly rinse the tank, refill it with fresh cold water and complete the final rinse stage. The programme takes approximately 20 minutes.

  • jURA J10 Twin Specifications

    The JURA J10 Twin EA/SA/INTA is Type 785, operating at 220–240V, 50Hz with 1450W power and a maximum static pump pressure of 15 bar. Its water tank holds 1.9 litres, while the twin bean system provides 2 × 180g capacity and the grounds container holds up to 16 servings. The machine measures 31 × 36.1 × 44.6cm (W × H × D) and weighs 11.8kg. It uses an HP3 milk-system connector with interchangeable CX3 milk spout, CLARIS Smart+ RFID filtration and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connectivity.
