Quick Tips

Quick Tips

  • Switch Off and Restart the Machine

If multiple lights suddenly begin flashing, start with a full restart. Switch the machine off, unplug it from the mains and leave it disconnected for at least one minute before reconnecting and switching it back on. Krups troubleshooting guidance uses this procedure when the machine detects an operating fault.

  • Remove the Water Filter Before Restarting

On applicable automatic models, remove the water tank and temporarily remove the Claris water filter cartridge before performing the restart. Refill and correctly refit the water tank, then restart the machine. This helps rule out restricted water flow through the filter as part of the fault check.

  • Check the Water Tank Is Full and Properly Fitted

Remove the water tank, fill it with fresh water and reinstall it firmly. Check that it sits completely in position. If the machine cannot establish the expected water supply, warning lights can appear and normal operation may be interrupted.

  • Empty and Refit the Drip Tray and Grounds Container

Remove the drip tray and coffee grounds container, empty and clean them, then reinstall them carefully. Make sure each component is fully seated. Don't rush this process—some machines need the containers to remain removed long enough to register that they have been emptied.

  • Check Which Lights Are Actually Flashing

Not every combination of flashing lights indicates the same problem. Some Krups machines use individual or combined LEDs for maintenance, water, grounds-container and operating warnings. Take a photo of the control panel before restarting the machine so you have a record of exactly which lights were flashing and whether any were permanently illuminated.

  • Don't Keep Resetting a Persistent All-Lights Fault

If all the lights immediately begin flashing again after the water supply, containers and restart procedure have been checked, the machine may have detected a fault that requires further diagnosis. Krups guidance advises against dismantling the appliance when a malfunction persists. At this point, record the model number and light pattern before arranging further investigation.

  • Why are all the lights flashing on my Krups coffee machine?

There isn't one universal meaning across every Krups model. Depending on the machine, flashing LEDs can indicate an operating fault, maintenance requirement or a particular machine status. The combination of lights and when they started flashing is therefore important when diagnosing the problem.

  • Can I reset a Krups coffee machine when all the lights are flashing?

A restart is one of the first troubleshooting steps. Switch the machine off, unplug it, wait at least one minute, then reconnect and restart it. On applicable automatic machines, troubleshooting guidance also recommends temporarily removing the water filter cartridge before restarting. If the same warning immediately returns, repeated resets are unlikely to resolve the underlying problem.

  • Does all the lights flashing mean my Krups coffee machine is broken?

Not necessarily. First check the water tank, drip tray, grounds container and any maintenance requirements before restarting the machine. If everything is correctly fitted and the same all-lights pattern repeatedly returns, the machine may have detected an internal malfunction and further diagnosis may be required.
