quick tips

  • Descale every 40 brews

Limescale reduces brewing performance and increases energy consumption. Melitta recommends descaling the Aromaboy after approximately every 40 brewing cycles to keep water flowing correctly.

  • Use fresh cold water

Always fill the water tank with fresh cold water using the glass jug. Fresh water produces better tasting coffee and helps maintain consistent brewing temperatures.

  • Use the correct filter papers

The Aromaboy is designed for Melitta Size 100 filter papers. Fold the filter along the seams and press it into the holder before adding coffee to prevent the paper folding over during brewing.

  • Measure your coffee correctly

For the best flavour, Melitta recommends approximately 6g of ground coffee per large cup. Adjust to suit your taste, but avoid overfilling the small filter basket.

  • Rinse after descaling

After completing a descaling cycle, run two full tanks of clean water through the machine before making coffee again to remove any remaining descaling solution.

  • Clean removable parts regularly

Wash the glass jug, lid and filter holder regularly. Keeping the filter basket clean helps maintain good water flow and prevents stale coffee oils affecting flavour.

  • What filter papers does the Melitta Aromaboy use?

The Aromaboy uses Melitta Size 100 paper filters, which are designed to fit the compact filter holder correctly.

  • Why does my coffee taste weak?

Weak coffee is usually caused by using too little ground coffee or grinding too coarsely. Melitta recommends around 6g per large cup as a starting point for good extraction.
