This is normal operation. After preparing milk-based drinks, the machine automatically recommends the Easy Cleaning programme to flush milk residue from the milk circuit. Running this programme after each milk drink helps maintain milk quality, prevents blockages, and keeps the system hygienic.
Can I use two different types of coffee beans in the Barista TS Smart?
Yes. The Barista TS Smart features Melitta's Bean Select dual bean hopper system. The machine can automatically choose between the two bean chambers depending on the selected drink, allowing you to use, for example, a dark espresso roast in one hopper and a lighter roast for longer coffees.
How often should I descale my Melitta Barista TS Smart?
The machine monitors water hardness and filter usage to determine when descaling is required. If you use a Melitta Pro Aqua water filter correctly and set the water hardness accurately, descaling may only be needed around once a year under ideal conditions. Always descale when prompted and use a descaling product approved for Melitta machines rather than vinegar.
