  • Check the Water Tank

    Remove the water tank and inspect it for cracks or damage.

    Also check that it sits fully into position, as a poorly fitted tank can allow water to escape during brewing.

  • Empty the Drip Tray

    Tassimo machines discharge a small amount of water during brewing and automatic rinsing.

    If the drip tray becomes full, it may appear that the machine is leaking when it simply needs emptying.

  • Clean the Brewing Head

    Coffee residue around the piercing unit or T DISC holder can prevent a proper seal.

    Remove any debris and wipe the brewing area regularly.

  • Inspect the T DISC

    A damaged or incorrectly inserted T DISC may not seal correctly during brewing, allowing water to escape around the brewing head.

    Try another T DISC if you suspect the pod is faulty.

  • Descale the Machine

    Limescale can restrict water flow and increase pressure inside the brewing system, sometimes causing water to escape where it shouldn't.

    Complete the full descaling programme if the descale indicator is illuminated.

  • Identify Where the Water Is Coming From

    Knowing the location of the leak makes diagnosis much easier.

    Check whether the water is coming from:

    • Underneath the machine
    • Around the brewing head
    • The water tank
    • The rear of the machine
    • The drip tray

  • Why is my Tassimo leaking from the bottom?

    First check that the drip tray isn't overflowing and inspect the water tank for damage. If neither is the cause, the leak may be coming from an internal component.

  • Why is water leaking around the coffee pod?

    This usually indicates the T DISC isn't sealing correctly. Clean the brewing head, inspect the piercing unit, and try another T DISC.

  • Is a small amount of water after brewing normal?

    Yes. Tassimo machines automatically rinse parts of the brewing system before and after preparing drinks. A small amount of water collecting in the drip tray is completely normal.
