  • Check the T DISC Barcode

    Every Tassimo drink contains a barcode that tells the machine exactly how to prepare the beverage.

    If the barcode is dirty, damaged or covered with coffee residue, the machine may not begin brewing.

    Try another T DISC to rule out a faulty pod.

  • Clean the Barcode Reader

    A dirty barcode reader is one of the most common reasons a Tassimo won't brew.

    Carefully wipe the scanner inside the brewing head using a soft damp cloth.

  • Make Sure the Water Tank Is Full

    Even if the tank appears to contain water, ensure it is fully seated and the internal float moves freely.

    A poorly fitted tank can prevent the brewing cycle from starting.

  • Descale the Machine

    Limescale can reduce water flow and prevent normal brewing.

    If the descale indicator is illuminated, complete the full descaling programme using the Service T DISC and suitable descaling tablets.

  • Check the Brewing Head

    Open the brewing unit and inspect for:

    • Coffee residue
    • Damaged or incorrectly positioned T DISC
    • Obstructions around the piercing unit

    The brewing head should close smoothly without excessive force.

  • Restart the Machine

    Switch the machine off, unplug it for a few minutes, then reconnect it.

    A simple restart can clear temporary electronic errors.

FAQ's

  • My Tassimo reads the T DISC but doesn't brew.

    If the machine recognises the pod but brewing never starts, check the water tank, descale the machine, and inspect the piercing unit for blockages.

  • My Tassimo won't recognise any T DISCs

    Clean both the barcode reader and the barcode on the T DISC. If multiple discs fail to work, the scanner may simply be dirty rather than faulty.

  • Why does my Tassimo stop brewing halfway through?

    This is commonly caused by restricted water flow due to limescale or an interruption to the brewing process. Running a full descaling programme often restores normal operation.
