quick tips

  • Remove and Refit the Water Tank

Don't just check whether there is water in the tank. Remove it completely, fill it with fresh cold water and then refit it firmly into position.

The machine needs the reservoir to be correctly seated before it can draw water reliably. Check that nothing around the tank connection is preventing it from sitting properly.

  • Check the Water Tank Float

If your model has a water-level float inside the reservoir, make sure it can move freely.

Limescale or deposits can cause the float to stick, potentially leaving the machine indicating that it needs water even though the reservoir is full. Remove the tank and clean it thoroughly before trying again.

  • Run the Cleaning Cycle With the Service T DISC

If the machine has water available but isn't dispensing normally, use the yellow/orange Service T DISC to run the machine's cleaning programme.

This allows water to pass through the brewing system without using a drink T DISC and is a useful way of determining whether the problem is associated with a particular drink disc or the machine's water system.

  • Descale the Machine if Flow Has Gradually Reduced

Water flow that has become progressively slower can point towards limescale accumulating within the water circuit.

Complete the full Tassimo descaling programme using the Service T DISC and suitable descaling tablets. Allow the programme to finish completely and carry out the required fresh-water rinses afterwards.

  • Inspect and Clean the Brewing Area

Switch the machine off and allow it to cool before opening the brewing head.

Remove the T DISC and check the holder and accessible brewing components for coffee residue or contamination. Clean the removable components as appropriate and make sure everything is correctly refitted before testing the machine again.

  • Test the Machine Without a Drink T DISC

If a particular T DISC produces no water or stops during brewing, don't immediately assume the pump has failed.

Try the maintenance/cleaning procedure using the Service T DISC. If water flows normally during the cleaning cycle, concentrate your checks on the drink T DISC, barcode recognition and brewing area rather than the water supply itself.

FAQ's

  • Why is my Tassimo making a noise but no water is coming out?

First check that the water tank contains enough fresh water and is fitted correctly. Remove and refit the reservoir rather than simply topping it up.

Next, use the Service T DISC to run the cleaning procedure. If the machine has been used for some time without descaling, complete the full descaling programme as well. Persistent noise with no water delivery after these checks may indicate a problem beyond normal user maintenance and require further diagnosis.

  • Why does my Tassimo only dispense a small amount of water?

First establish whether the problem happens with every T DISC or only one. Try another drink and run the cleaning cycle using the Service T DISC.

If water delivery has gradually become slower across different drinks, descaling is an important next step because deposits within the water circuit can restrict normal flow. Also check that the water reservoir is correctly installed and that the brewing area is clean.

  • What should I do if my Tassimo still has no water flow after descaling?

Refill and securely refit the water tank, then run a cleaning/rinsing cycle using the Service T DISC. Make sure the descaling process was allowed to complete fully and wasn't interrupted.

If the machine still cannot move water during the Service T DISC programme, the fault is less likely to be caused by a particular drink T DISC or barcode. At that stage, the machine may require further diagnosis rather than repeated descaling or cleaning.
