quick tips

  • Keep the Barcode Reader Clean

If your machine struggles to recognise a T DISC, gently clean the barcode reading window with a soft, damp cloth. A dirty reader is one of the most common causes of brewing problems.

  • Always Keep the Service T DISC

The yellow Service T DISC is required for cleaning and descaling programmes. Store it safely—you'll need it throughout the life of the machine.

  • Descale When the Indicator Appears

Don't ignore the descale light. Regular descaling helps maintain brewing temperature, water flow, and the overall lifespan of the machine.

  • Refill with Fresh Water Daily

Using fresh, cold water improves drink quality and helps prevent stale tastes from developing in the water tank.

  • Clean the Piercing Unit Regularly

Coffee residue can build up around the piercing unit, affecting brewing performance and preventing the brewing head from closing properly.

  • Adjust Your Drink Before Brewing

The My Way series allows you to customise strength, temperature, and cup size before each brew. Experiment with the settings to get the best flavour from your favourite drinks.

  • Warning Lights Explained

    Status Light (Steady)

Your machine is ready to brew.

    Status Light (Flashing)

The machine is heating up or brewing. Wait until the light becomes steady before opening the brewing head.

    Fill Water Tank Light

The water tank is empty or not fitted correctly. Refill with fresh water and ensure it is fully seated.

  • Descale Light

Your machine requires descaling. Complete the automatic descaling programme using the Service T DISC and Tassimo descaling tablets.

    Multiple Lights Flashing

Switch the machine off, wait a few minutes, and restart it. If the lights continue flashing after cleaning and descaling, further assistance may be required.

FAQ's

  • Why won't my Tassimo My Way recognise my T DISC?

Start by cleaning the barcode on the T DISC and the machine's barcode reader. If the barcode is damaged or dirty, the machine may not recognise it. Trying a different T DISC will help determine whether the problem is with the pod or the machine.

  • Why is my Tassimo My Way brewing smaller drinks?

Check that the drink volume hasn't been reduced using the customisation controls. If the volume is correct but drinks remain short, descale the machine, as limescale can restrict water flow.

  • Why is the descale light still on after descaling?

The automatic descaling programme must be completed in full using the yellow Service T DISC and suitable Tassimo descaling tablets. If the cycle is interrupted, the indicator may remain illuminated until the programme is repeated successfully.
