WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Fresh drinking water, a container to collect the rinse water and a clean soft damp cloth.

01

EJECT THE USED CAPSULE

Lift and close the lever to eject any used capsule into the used capsule container. Do not attempt to access or remove an internal brewer — the Lattissima One does not have a removable brew group.

02

EMPTY THE CAPSULE CONTAINER

Remove the used capsule container and empty it completely. Rinse it with clean water to remove coffee residue before refitting it to the machine.

03

CLEAN THE DRIP TRAY

Remove and empty the drip tray. Clean the tray and cup support, then lift out the removable grid and clean underneath it where coffee and rinse water can collect.

04

RINSE THE WATER TANK

Remove the water tank, empty any remaining water and rinse the tank with fresh drinking water. Refill it with fresh drinking water up to the MAX level and refit it securely to the machine.

05

POSITION A CONTAINER

Place a suitable empty container directly underneath the coffee outlet. Make sure there is no capsule in the machine before running the rinse.

06

RINSE THE COFFEE PATH

Press the Lungo button with no capsule inserted. Allow the hot water to run through the internal coffee path and discharge through the coffee outlet into the container.

07

CLEAN THE COFFEE OUTLET

Once the machine has finished rinsing and the outlet is safe to touch, wipe around the coffee outlet with a clean damp cloth to remove remaining coffee residue.

08

WIPE THE MACHINE

Use a clean soft damp cloth to wipe the external surfaces of the machine. Do not use strong cleaning agents, solvents or abrasive materials on the machine.

09

REFIT AND CHECK

Refit the clean drip tray, grid, cup support and used capsule container. Check that the water tank is correctly seated and the machine is ready for normal use.

ENGINEER'S NOTE

The Lattissima One is a capsule machine and does not have a removable brew group to take out and wash. Routine coffee-side maintenance therefore focuses on keeping the capsule area, removable trays, water tank and coffee outlet clean, together with regularly flushing the coffee path using fresh water.

FAQ's

  • Does the De'Longhi Lattissima One have a removable coffee brewer?

No. Unlike many bean-to-cup coffee machines, the Lattissima One is a capsule machine and does not have a removable brew group for routine cleaning. Coffee-side maintenance is carried out by cleaning the removable components, rinsing the machine with fresh water and keeping the coffee outlet clean.

  • How do I rinse the coffee system on my Lattissima One?

Make sure there is no capsule inside the machine, place a container beneath the coffee outlet and press the Lungo button. Fresh water will pass through the internal coffee path and out through the coffee outlet. This is useful routine cleaning, particularly if the machine has not been used for a while or coffee residue has accumulated around the outlet.

  • Is rinsing the Lattissima One the same as descaling it?

No. Running fresh water through the coffee path helps rinse away coffee residue, but it does not replace descaling. Descaling is a separate maintenance procedure designed to remove mineral deposits from the internal water circuit and should be carried out when required by the machine.

Engineer Tip

Don't go looking for a removable brewer inside the Lattissima One. The capsule brewing system is internal, so routine maintenance is about keeping the areas you can access clean and periodically running fresh water through the coffee path. If coffee delivery becomes noticeably slower, rinsing is a sensible first step, but persistent slow flow can also indicate that the machine needs descaling.
