WHAT YOU'LL NEED

A suitable coffee machine descaler, fresh drinking water and a container with a capacity of at least 1 litre to collect the water released during the descaling and rinsing process.

01

PREPARE THE MACHINE

Switch the machine on and allow it to become ready. Lift and close the lever to eject any used capsule into the capsule container before starting the descaling process.

02

EMPTY THE MACHINE

Remove and empty the drip tray and used capsule container. Refit both parts correctly before continuing.

03

PREPARE THE DESCALING SOLUTION

Remove the water tank and add 100 ml of suitable descaling solution. Add fresh water up to the descaling mark on the tank, approximately 500 ml, then refit the tank to the machine.

04

CONNECT THE DESCALING PIPE

Remove the descaling pipe from its storage position at the rear of the machine and connect it to the steam connector at the front of the machine. The machine will enter descaling mode.

05

CHECK THE DESCALING LIGHTS

Once the descaling pipe is connected correctly, the descaling alert should flash orange and the Espresso button should illuminate white, indicating that the machine is ready to begin the descaling cycle.

06

POSITION A LARGE CONTAINER

Place a container with a capacity of at least 1 litre underneath both the coffee outlet and the end of the descaling pipe. Make sure both outlets are positioned securely over the container.

07

START THE DESCALING CYCLE

Press the Espresso button to begin. Descaling solution will run through the machine and discharge from the coffee outlet and descaling pipe. Allow the cycle to continue automatically until the water tank is empty.

08

PREPARE FOR RINSING

When the first stage has finished, remove the water tank, drip tray and used capsule container. Empty them as required and rinse them thoroughly to remove any remaining descaling solution.

09

REFILL WITH FRESH WATER

Fill the water tank with fresh drinking water up to the MAX level and refit it to the machine. Empty the collection container and place it back underneath the coffee outlet and descaling pipe.

10

START THE RINSE CYCLE

Press the Lungo button to begin the rinse. Fresh water will pass through the machine to flush the internal water circuit. Allow the rinse cycle to run automatically until it is complete.

11

FINISH AND REASSEMBLE

When rinsing is complete, the machine will switch off. Remove the descaling pipe, rinse it with fresh water and return it to its storage position at the rear of the machine. Empty the collection container and refit the drip tray and capsule container. The machine is now ready for normal use.

ENGINEER'S NOTE

Allow the complete descaling programme to run without interruption. The Lattissima One uses the descaling pipe as part of the procedure, so make sure it is connected before attempting to start the cycle. The complete descaling and rinsing process takes approximately 20 minutes.
