How to Clean a De'Longhi Magnifica Evo Coffee Brewer
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Fresh water, a suitable container or sink, and a soft cleaning brush for removing loose coffee residue from inside the infuser housing.
SWITCH THE MAGNIFICA EVO OFF
Switch the machine off using the normal power button.
Allow the machine to complete its normal shutdown before attempting to remove the infuser.
REMOVE THE WATER TANK
Remove the water tank from the Magnifica Evo.
This gives you access to the infuser door positioned on the right-hand side of the machine.
OPEN THE INFUSER DOOR
Open the infuser access door behind the water tank.
You will now be able to see the removable brewing unit inside the machine.
RELEASE THE INFUSER
Press the two coloured release buttons inward at the same time.
While holding the buttons inward, pull the infuser out towards you and remove it from the machine.
IMPORTANT
Do not force the infuser out of the machine. If it will not release, check that the Magnifica Evo has been switched off correctly using the power button before trying again.
SOAK THE INFUSER
Immerse the removed infuser in water for approximately 5 minutes.
This helps loosen accumulated coffee residue before rinsing.
RINSE UNDER THE TAP
After soaking, rinse the infuser thoroughly under the tap.
Use water only. Do not use washing-up liquid, cleaning chemicals or other detergents on the infuser.
DO NOT USE THE DISHWASHER
The Magnifica Evo infuser must not be cleaned in a dishwasher.
De'Longhi specifically instructs that the infuser should be rinsed with water only, without detergents or dishwasher cleaning.
CLEAN THE INFUSER HOUSING
With the infuser removed, look through the open infuser door and check the housing inside the machine for loose coffee residue.
Use a suitable brush to remove coffee deposits that have accumulated inside the infuser housing.
REFIT THE INFUSER
Slide the clean infuser back into its housing inside the machine.
Once correctly positioned, press the PUSH symbol until the infuser clicks securely into place.
IF THE INFUSER WILL NOT FIT
Do not force the infuser back into the machine if it appears too large or will not slide correctly into position.
Before inserting it, press the two levers on the infuser to adjust it into the correct position, then try again.
CHECK THE RELEASE BUTTONS
Once the infuser has been fitted, check that the two coloured release buttons have snapped back outward.
This confirms that the infuser has locked correctly into its housing.
CLOSE THE MACHINE
Close the infuser access door.
Refit the water tank into the Magnifica Evo. The machine can now be switched back on and used normally.
