How to Clean a De'Longhi PrimaDonna Soul Coffee Brewer

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Fresh water and the cleaning brush supplied with the machine.

Important: Clean the removable infuser at least once a month. Use water only. Do not use washing-up liquid or place the infuser in a dishwasher.

SWITCH OFF THE MACHINE

Switch the PrimaDonna Soul off using its normal shutdown procedure. Wait until the machine has completed its shutdown before attempting to remove the infuser. The infuser cannot be removed while the machine is switched on.

ACCESS THE COFFEE BREWER

Remove the water tank. Open the infuser access door located on the right-hand side of the machine, behind the water tank.

REMOVE THE INFUSER

Press the two coloured release buttons inward simultaneously while pulling the infuser out of the machine.

SOAK AND RINSE THE INFUSER

Soak the removed infuser in water for approximately 5 minutes. Afterwards, rinse it thoroughly under running tap water. Use water only, without washing-up liquid or other cleaning chemicals. Do not place the infuser in a dishwasher.

CLEAN THE INFUSER HOUSING

Using the supplied cleaning brush, remove any loose coffee residues visible inside the infuser housing through the open access door.

REFIT THE INFUSER

Slide the infuser onto its internal support and press the PUSH marking firmly until the unit clicks into position. If the infuser is difficult to insert, adjust its size by pressing the two levers together before fitting it.

CHECK AND CLOSE

Confirm that both coloured release buttons have returned outward into their locked positions. Close the infuser access door and reinstall the water tank.

How often should I clean the coffee brewer in my PrimaDonna Soul?
The removable infuser should be cleaned at least once a month. Remove it only after the machine has been switched off correctly, then soak it in water for approximately five minutes and rinse it under the tap.
Can I use cleaning tablets or washing-up liquid on the PrimaDonna Soul infuser?
No. The documented infuser cleaning procedure specifies water only. Washing-up liquid must not be used on the infuser, and the assembly must not be cleaned in a dishwasher. Cleaning tablets are not part of this removable-infuser procedure.
Why won't the infuser fit back into my PrimaDonna Soul?
The infuser may need adjusting to the correct position before insertion. Press the two adjustment levers together as shown in the manual, then slide the assembly onto its support and push until it clicks. Both coloured release buttons should spring outward when the infuser is correctly fitted.

Engineer Tip

Always allow the machine to complete its normal shutdown before removing the infuser. When refitting, check that both coloured release buttons have sprung outward. If the infuser does not slide into place, adjust it using the two levers rather than forcing it into the housing.
