HOW TO DESCALE A SAGE BAMBINO

The Sage Bambino uses a dedicated clean and descale cycle to remove mineral build-up from inside the machine. When maintenance is due, the 2 CUP button will continuously flash. Follow the complete descale and rinse sequence before returning the machine to normal use.

EMPTY THE DRIP TRAY

Remove and empty the drip tray, then reinstall it firmly into position on the Bambino before starting the clean and descale cycle.

ADD THE DESCALING SOLUTION

Fill the water tank to the DESCALE line marked on the tank, then add the descaling agent to the water.

POSITION A LARGE CONTAINER

Place a container with a capacity of at least 2 litres underneath both the group head and steam wand. The container needs to collect the water discharged from the machine during the cycle.

START THE DESCALE CYCLE

Press and hold the 2 CUP and STEAM buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. The machine will enter its clean and descale cycle.

LET THE CYCLE RUN

Allow the Bambino to run through the descale programme without interruption. The 2 CUP button will flash throughout the cycle. Hot water and steam may be discharged, so keep hands clear of the group head and steam wand.

WAIT FOR THE MACHINE TO PAUSE

Once the descaling solution has been used, the Bambino will automatically pause the descale programme. Do not remove the water tank while the machine is actively running the cycle.

RINSE AND REFILL THE WATER TANK

Remove the water tank, rinse it thoroughly and refill it with fresh water to the MAX line. Empty the waste-water container, then return both the water tank and container to position.

START THE RINSE CYCLE

Press the 2 CUP button to begin the rinse cycle. Allow the machine to complete the full rinse so the remaining descaling solution is flushed from the internal water system.

RETURN TO READY MODE

When the rinse cycle has finished, the Sage Bambino will automatically return to ready mode. Empty the waste-water container and the machine can then be prepared for normal use.
