  • Let HygieSteam do its job

    After every milk drink, your Saeco automatically performs a HygieSteam Shot, flushing steam through the milk circuit to remove fresh milk residue. Allow this cleaning cycle to finish before removing the milk tube.

  • Clean the internal cappuccinatore every week

    The internal cappuccinatore should be removed, dismantled and rinsed under running water every week. Even small milk deposits can reduce steam flow and prevent proper milk frothing.

  • Run the Deep Milk Clean programme

    Saeco recommends performing the Deep Milk Clean programme regularly using the Philips milk circuit cleaner. This removes milk fats from parts of the system that cannot be reached during normal rinsing.

  • Check the milk tube and container

    Make sure the milk tube is fully connected and submerged in the milk. Inspect the tube for splits, blockages or dried milk residue, and clean the milk container thoroughly every week.

  • Keep the HygieSteam container clean

    The HygieSteam container and its cover should be cleaned weekly or whenever the machine reminds you. A dirty milk tube holder or HygieSteam assembly can affect the automatic cleaning process and eventually reduce milk performance.

  • Machine cleans normally but still won't froth

    If the HygieSteam programme completes but milk still won't froth, inspect the cappuccinatore, milk tube and milk container for blockages. If these are clean and assembled correctly, the steam circuit may require further diagnosis.
