quick tips

  • Check the power connection

Make sure the mains plug is securely connected and that the small power connector is fully inserted into the socket on the back of the machine. A loose connector can prevent the machine from powering up and may trigger Error Code

  • Restart the machine completely

Turn the machine off, unplug it from the mains for around 30 seconds, then reconnect and switch it back on. A full power reset can clear temporary electronic faults.

  • Allow the machine to reach room temperature

If the machine has been transported or stored somewhere cold, allow it to stand indoors for at least 30 minutes before switching it on. Saeco uses Error Code 11 to indicate that the machine needs to adjust to room temperature.

  • Let an overheated machine cool down

If the machine has overheated, switch it off and leave it for approximately 30 minutes before restarting. Error Code 14 indicates the internal temperature is too high.

  • Check the brew group and service door

If the brew group has recently been removed, make sure it has been correctly reinstalled and that the service door is fully closed before powering the machine on. An incorrectly fitted brew group can interrupt the normal start-up sequence.

  • Inspect the mains socket

Test another appliance in the same wall socket or try a different socket to confirm the electrical supply is working correctly before investigating the coffee machine further.

FAQ's

  • Why is my Saeco coffee machine completely dead?

First check that the mains socket is working and that the power cable is securely connected at both ends. If the machine still shows no signs of life after a full power reset, it may require professional diagnosis. Error Code 19 specifically relates to the power connector at the rear of the machine.

  • Why won't my Saeco turn on after being stored in a cold place?

Saeco machines can display Error Code 11 after being exposed to low temperatures. Leave the machine at room temperature for around 30 minutes before attempting to switch it on again.

  • Why does my Saeco switch off shortly after turning on?

If the machine has overheated, it may shut down to protect itself. Allow it to cool for approximately 30 minutes before restarting. If the problem continues after cooling, further investigation may be required.
