quick tips

  • Use the right filter basket for your coffee.

Use the Single Wall baskets for freshly ground coffee and the Dual Wall baskets for pre-ground coffee or beans more than 30 days after roasting for the most consistent results.

  • Replace the water filter every 3 months.

The manual recommends soaking the filter for five minutes before installation and replacing it every three months to help reduce scale build-up and maintain coffee quality.

  • Let the ThermoJet™ system do the work.

The Bambino reaches brewing temperature in around 3 seconds, so there's no need for a long warm-up before making coffee.

  • Always fill the water tank with fresh cold water.

If the machine detects no water, all LEDs flash six times for three seconds, reminding you to refill the tank before brewing.

  • Purge and wipe the steam wand after every milk drink.

Cleaning the steam wand immediately after use helps prevent milk residue blocking the steam tip and keeps milk performance consistent.

  • Use the correct coffee dose.

The supplied baskets are designed for 8–11g in the single basket and 16–19g in the double basket, helping you achieve balanced espresso extraction.

FAQ's

  • Why does my Sage Bambino flash all of its lights?

If the water tank is empty or not detected, the Bambino flashes its LED lights six times for three seconds. Refill the tank with fresh water and ensure it is pushed fully into place against the back of the machine.

  • Which filter basket should I use?

Use the Single Wall basket when grinding fresh coffee beans yourself. Use the Dual Wall basket if you're using pre-ground coffee or older beans, as it helps produce a more consistent crema and extraction.

  • How do I put the Bambino into Standby mode?

To switch the machine into Standby, press the 1 Cup and Hot Water buttons together for approximately half a second. The machine will also enter standby automatically after around 10 minutes of inactivity.
