HOW TO RUN A COFFEE CLEANING CYCLE ON A GAGGIA CADORNA

The Gaggia Cadorna has a dedicated brew group cleaning programme for removing oily coffee residue from the brewing system. The procedure uses a coffee cleaning tablet and takes approximately five minutes. This is separate from descaling, which removes mineral deposits from the machine's water circuit.

PREPARE YOUR GAGGIA CADORNA

Switch the machine on and allow it to complete its normal start-up procedure.

Make sure there is sufficient fresh water in the water tank before beginning the cleaning programme.

POSITION A CONTAINER

Place a suitable container beneath the coffee dispensing spout. This will collect the water and cleaning solution dispensed during the brew group cleaning procedure.

OPEN CLEAN / SETTING

Press the CLEAN/SETTING button on the control panel.

Select CLEAN from the options shown on the Cadorna display.

SELECT BREW GROUP CLEANING

From the cleaning menu, select BREW GROUP CLEANING.

Press the START/STOP button to launch the cleaning procedure.

FOLLOW THE DISPLAY

Follow each instruction shown on the Cadorna display. The machine will guide you through the cleaning procedure and indicate when the coffee cleaning tablet needs to be used.

Use a coffee cleaning tablet intended for removing oily coffee residue from the brewing system.

RUN THE CLEANING PROGRAMME

Allow the Cadorna to run the brew group cleaning programme. The complete procedure takes approximately five minutes.

The machine controls the cleaning sequence, so continue following any instructions shown on the display.

PAUSE IF NECESSARY

If you need to pause the cleaning procedure, press the START/STOP button.

Press START/STOP again to resume the programme and allow the cleaning sequence to finish.

COMPLETE THE CLEANING CYCLE

Allow the programme to continue until the machine confirms that the brew group cleaning procedure has finished.

Remove and empty the collection container and return the machine to normal use.

KEEP UP WITH BREW GROUP MAINTENANCE

The tablet cleaning programme does not replace normal brew group maintenance. Gaggia recommends removing the brew group and rinsing it under running water every week.

The coffee-oil cleaning procedure should be carried out monthly to help remove oily coffee deposits that normal water rinsing may leave behind.
