Krups Coffee Machine not dispensing

If your Krups coffee machine is not dispensing coffee, only producing a few drops or stopping during brewing, the cause may be linked to routine maintenance, water flow or an interrupted programme rather than a major fault. Krups machines monitor the brewing system and will often display maintenance reminders before performance is affected.

Before brewing, make sure the water tank is full, clean and correctly positioned. If the machine cannot detect sufficient water or the tank is not seated correctly, coffee preparation may not begin.

If the CLEAN or CALC indicators are illuminated, the machine may require maintenance before normal operation can continue. Coffee oils and limescale can gradually restrict the brewing circuit, reducing water flow and preventing coffee from dispensing correctly. Complete the full cleaning or descaling programme without interruption whenever prompted.

Krups machines monitor the position of the coffee grounds container. After emptying it, wait a few seconds before refitting it and ensure it is fully inserted. The manuals note that replacing the container too quickly may prevent the machine from recognising that it has been emptied.

Check the Coffee Beans

Only use fresh whole coffee beans suitable for automatic bean-to-cup machines. Krups advises against using oily, caramelised or flavoured beans, as these can clog the grinder and affect coffee preparation. If the grinder is operating but little or no coffee is produced, inspect the beans and adjust the grinder only while it is actively grinding.

Krups coffee machines perform automatic rinse cycles during start-up and after maintenance. Allow these programmes to complete before attempting to prepare another drink, as interrupting them can affect normal machine operation.

Some Krups machines display an "Error code XX" message if a fault is detected. The manufacturer recommends switching the machine off, disconnecting it from the power supply for approximately 20 seconds and restarting it. If the message returns, note the displayed code before seeking further model-specific guidance.
