krups Coffee Machine not turning on

If your Krups coffee machine won't switch on, shows no display or appears completely unresponsive, the problem may not always be an electrical fault. The Krups manuals recommend checking the power supply, allowing interrupted programmes to reset and looking for any warning messages before assuming the machine requires repair.

Ensure the power cable is securely connected and plugged directly into a suitable mains socket. Krups recommends using a properly earthed wall socket and advises against extension leads or multi-way adaptors where possible. If the machine still shows no signs of power, test the socket with another appliance.

If the power supply was interrupted during a brewing, cleaning or descaling programme, many Krups models automatically reset when power is restored and are then ready to begin a new cycle. If your machine does not recover, disconnect it from the mains for approximately 20 seconds before reconnecting it.

Some Krups machines display an "Error Code XX" message instead of starting normally. If this appears, make a note of the displayed code after restarting the machine. If the same error returns, refer to your machine-specific support guide for further diagnosis.
