  • Lavazza A Modo Mio Jolie / Jolie Evo Support

The Lavazza A Modo Mio Jolie and Jolie Evo are compact capsule coffee machines designed around a simple manual brewing system. Both use Lavazza A Modo Mio capsules, have a 0.6-litre removable water tank, approximately 35-second heat-up and a used-capsule drawer holding around five capsules. The Jolie Evo retains the familiar Jolie operating system while improving energy performance, including automatic switch-off after approximately two minutes of inactivity.

  • Let the machine finish heating before brewing

After switching your Jolie on, allow it to complete its heating cycle before inserting a capsule and brewing. Heat-up is approximately 35 seconds. Once the machine reaches its ready condition, you can prepare the coffee. If the indicator continues flashing and never reaches its normal ready state, check the water tank and move into troubleshooting rather than repeatedly pressing the brew control.

  • Keep the 0.6-litre water tank filled and correctly seated

The Jolie uses a 0.6-litre removable water tank. Remove the tank for filling rather than exceeding its maximum level while it is fitted to the machine, and make sure it is correctly seated when replaced. If the machine suddenly stops dispensing or the pump becomes noticeably louder, check the tank before assuming the pump has failed.

  • Use one compatible capsule at a time

Raise the loading lever, insert one Lavazza A Modo Mio-compatible capsule, then lower the lever fully before brewing. Don't insert more than one capsule or attempt to reuse a previously brewed capsule. If the lever suddenly becomes difficult to close, don't force it. Check that the capsule is correctly positioned and that a previous capsule hasn't remained in the brewing area.

  • Use the Stop & Go function to control your coffee

The Jolie/Jolie Evo uses Lavazza's Stop & Go system, allowing you to control the amount of coffee delivered. This means a drink stopping isn't automatically evidence of a water-flow fault. If the machine consistently stops at the expected quantity, check how the drink has been selected before troubleshooting. If delivery becomes progressively shorter or slower despite normal operation, investigate water flow and scale instead.

  • Empty the capsule drawer regularly

The Jolie's spent-capsule drawer holds approximately five used capsules. Don't wait for the collection area to become overfilled. Remove the drawer, dispose of the capsules and empty any residual liquid. Clean and correctly reinstall the drawer and drip tray. This also gives you an opportunity to check whether a capsule has failed to eject correctly.

  • Remember that Jolie Evo switches itself off quickly

The Jolie Evo's automatic switch-off occurs after approximately two minutes, compared with around nine minutes on the previous Jolie generation. If you return to the machine after leaving it unused and find it switched off, this can therefore be completely normal rather than a power fault. Restart it normally and allow it to complete its heating cycle.

FAQ's

FAQ's

  • Why is my Lavazza Jolie flashing?

Flashing during startup can simply indicate that the machine is heating. Allow approximately 35 seconds for the normal heating cycle to complete. If the machine continues flashing and doesn't reach its normal ready condition, check that the water tank contains sufficient water and is correctly fitted. If the warning continues, note the exact behaviour before continuing troubleshooting rather than repeatedly attempting to brew.

  • Why does my Lavazza Jolie switch itself off?

Automatic switch-off is a normal energy-saving feature. The Jolie Evo switches itself off after approximately two minutes of inactivity, whereas the earlier Jolie generation used a longer automatic-off period of approximately nine minutes. Switch the machine back on and allow it to heat normally.

  • Why is my Lavazza Jolie making a loud noise but no coffee comes out?

First check the 0.6-litre water tank. Make sure it contains sufficient water and is correctly seated. If the tank previously ran empty, the machine may initially struggle to establish water flow again. Also check that the capsule is correctly inserted and the loading lever is fully lowered. If the pump continues running but little or no water appears, move to the water-flow troubleshooting procedure rather than repeatedly operating the pump.

fault codes

fault codes

  • Faults & Warning Lights

The Jolie and Jolie Evo primarily communicate their operating condition through the main illuminated control rather than displaying conventional numbered fault codes.

  • Flashing during startup

The machine may simply be heating. Allow the normal heating cycle to finish before brewing.

  • Machine switches itself off

This can be normal. The Jolie Evo has an approximately two-minute automatic-off function.

  • Pump operates but no coffee is dispensed

Check the water tank level and position first. Then check the capsule and loading lever. If the pump runs but water cannot move through the machine, investigate the water circuit.

  • Coffee flow is becoming increasingly slow

Check whether descaling is due. Progressive deterioration is more consistent with restriction within the water circuit than a sudden pump failure.

  • Lever won't close

Don't force it. Check the capsule position and make sure a previous capsule hasn't remained trapped in the loading area.

  • Capsule doesn't drop into the used-capsule drawer

Empty the drawer and operate the loading lever normally. Don't use tools or fingers inside the capsule mechanism.
