quick tips

  • Check Whether the Water in the Drip Tray Is Actually a Leak

The Dinamica automatically releases water into the drip tray during internal rinse cycles, including when the machine switches on and off. A small amount of clean water appearing in the tray is therefore normal. If the tray is filling unusually quickly, overflowing, or collecting large amounts during every drink, further investigation is needed.

  • Remove and Check the Water Tank

If water appears underneath or towards the side/rear of the machine, remove the Dinamica water tank and inspect it for cracks or damage. Pay particular attention to the spring-loaded outlet valve at the bottom of the tank. Check that it moves freely and seals again when released. Refit the tank firmly so its outlet engages correctly with the machine's water inlet.

  • Empty and Correctly Refit the Drip Tray

The Dinamica's drip tray collects rinse water as well as small amounts of water produced during normal operation. Remove the complete tray assembly, empty it and make sure the grounds container and condensate tray are clean and correctly positioned before sliding the assembly fully back into the machine. An overfilled or incorrectly seated tray can make water appear to be leaking from underneath.

  • Check the Hot-Water Connection

If the leak occurs while dispensing hot water or using the milk system, inspect the hot-water/steam connection at the front of the Dinamica. Make sure the hot-water spout or milk carafe is pushed completely onto the connection. Clean away dried milk, coffee or scale around the coupling. Water escaping specifically from this area during operation points towards the connection or its seals rather than the water tank.

  • Clean Around the Infuser and Inside the Machine

Switch the Dinamica off correctly, remove the water tank and open the infuser door. Remove the infuser and clean away loose coffee grounds from inside the machine. Rinse the removable infuser with water and refit it once clean. Heavy deposits around the brewing area can interfere with drainage and make water collect where it shouldn't.

  • Identify Exactly When the Water Appears

The timing of the leak is an important diagnostic clue. Water underneath the machine while it is standing unused suggests checking the tank, tank valve and inlet first. Water appearing only while coffee is brewing points more towards the brewing or drainage circuit. Water during hot-water or milk operation directs attention towards the hot-water connection. If substantial clean water continues appearing internally or beneath the Dinamica despite the external checks above, an internal hose, connector or seal may require inspection.

FAQ's

  • Why does my De'Longhi Dinamica always have water in the drip tray?

Some water in the Dinamica drip tray is normal even when you haven't spilled anything. The machine performs automatic rinsing and manages residual water internally, with some of this water ending up in the drip tray. Empty the tray regularly. Investigate further if it suddenly starts filling much faster than previously, repeatedly overflows, or a large quantity of water is being lost during brewing.

  • Why is my Dinamica leaking water from underneath?

First remove and inspect the water tank, tank outlet valve and drip-tray assembly. Dry the machine and worktop completely, then reinstall the tank and observe the machine before making a drink. If water appears while the machine is idle, the tank or its connection is a strong place to start. If the underside remains dry until you brew or dispense hot water, the timing helps narrow the fault to the relevant internal circuit.

  • Why does my Dinamica leak when the milk carafe or hot-water spout is fitted?

Both accessories use the Dinamica's hot-water/steam connection. Remove the accessory and clean the connection carefully, then make sure the attachment is pushed fully into position. Check for visible contamination or damage around the coupling. If water repeatedly escapes around the connection despite correct fitting and cleaning, the connection seals or coupling may need closer inspection.
