How to Clean the LatteCrema Milk System
The Dinamica Plus features De'Longhi's LatteCrema automatic milk system, which should be cleaned after every milk-based drink to maintain hygiene and consistent frothing.
After Every Milk Drink
- Leave the milk carafe connected to the machine.
- Turn the froth adjustment dial on the milk carafe to the CLEAN position.
- The machine will flush hot water and steam through the milk circuit, removing milk residue from the internal pipes.
- Wait until the cleaning cycle finishes before removing the milk carafe.
- Store any remaining milk in the refrigerator.
Running the Clean cycle after every use helps prevent dried milk from blocking the frothing system and maintains smooth milk delivery.
- Leave the milk carafe connected to the machine.
Adjusting the Coffee Grinder
The Dinamica Plus allows the coffee grind to be adjusted to suit different beans and personal taste.
Important
Only adjust the grinder while it is actively grinding coffee. Turning the adjustment dial when the grinder is stationary can damage the grinding mechanism.
To Adjust the Grind
- Prepare a coffee so the grinder is running.
- Open the bean hopper lid.
- Locate the grinder adjustment dial inside the bean hopper.
- Turn the dial one click at a time:
Turn towards a lower number for a finer grind and stronger, slower extraction.
Turn towards a higher number for a coarser grind and faster extraction. - Make two or three coffees before deciding whether further adjustment is needed.
- Prepare a coffee so the grinder is running.
Changing the Water Filter
Using a genuine De'Longhi water filter reduces limescale build-up and helps improve coffee flavour.
Fitting a New Filter
- Remove the water tank from the machine.
- Remove the old filter if one is installed.
- Immerse the new filter in fresh water and gently rotate it until air bubbles stop escaping.
- Insert the filter firmly into its housing inside the water tank.
- Fill the tank with fresh drinking water.
- Refit the water tank to the machine.
Activate the Filter
After fitting a new filter:
- Open the machine's Settings menu.
- Select the Water Filter option.
- Confirm that a new filter has been installed when prompted.
- The machine will dispense water to prime the filter and remove any trapped air.
When to Replace
Replace the filter whenever the machine prompts you or approximately every two months, depending on water usage and local water hardness.
A fresh filter helps:
- Reduce limescale inside the hydraulic system.
- Improve coffee flavour.
- Extend the life of internal components.
- Reduce the frequency of descaling.
- Remove the water tank from the machine.
